In a pretty little forest gully nestled on the side of Mt Wombat, I met a weary worker heading home after a hard night of foraging. I followed, as this slow plodding Wombat trundled along the embankment above a small creek. It clearly knew where it was going and appeared perfectly secure in its own territory. I was interested to discover its destination. When we arrived at the burrow that was to be bed for the day, the wombat stopped, very deliberately and contentedly sat down and spent 5 minutes soaking up the warmth of the morning sun, before disappearing down the hole to a well earned rest.
