Come and join us to celebrate the fantastic region we live in and the many different groups and projects that are happening all over the Strathbogie Shire – you’d be amazed!!

One of the day’s highlights will be a presentation by Greg Moore (Burnley/Univ Melb.) – The Value of Trees in Farms, Parks and Roadsides as Climate Changes. Greg is an inspiring speaker that will improve your understanding of the immense benefits that trees provide in the landscape – guaranteed! But that’s not all, Prof. Snow Barlow and Mr John Dainton will address the forum about the important issues of climate change and sustainable water use.

The day will also include the launch of several important policy documents that the Shire of Strathbogie has recently produced: ‘Shire of Strathbogie Roadside Management Plan’ and ‘Strengthening Strathbogie in a Changing Climate’.

Another highlight will be displays & posters of many of the community and industry environment projects in the Shire. And, not to missed, will be Peranbin Primary College’s Puppet Extravaganza – to open the day.

The day will be MC’d by Prof. Kate Auty (Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability) and will conclude with a delicious lunch (wood-fired pizza, local fare & wine tasting) and then a guided walk along Violet Town’s award-winning Honeysuckle Recreational Environment Project.

We encourage you all to come along and join the celebration.
