Well, lots, if your name happens to be ‘Dog Vomit Slime Mold‘! Slime Molds resemble fungi, though they aren’t closely related at all;  this species has a world-wide distribution.  You can read more about this fascinating organism at Wikipedia. This one is living down in the rotting wood of this old Silver Wattle (Acacia dealbata) stump, where it feeds on the microbes that are decomposing the wood. The stump has been there for 20 years, and I’ve never seen the Slime Mold before. However, If I hadn’t been around on this day, I probably wouldn’t have seen it either. By the end of the day it had done its fruiting thing and gone, leaving only a brownish smear on the stump.
