Three years ago Jono found a tiny frogmouth chick that had fallen from its nest .We hand reared this gentle bird feeding it tadpoles (favorite), dog food ( economical ) and chicken pieces(treats). Oscar reached maturity and we released her/him into the wilds of our garden . Every now and then Oscar re-appears , sometimes with another bird but mostly alone . Tonight it is raining and Oscar has been flying from a vantage point in the swamp gum tree to swoop on moths attracted to the light from my office window. I hear a faint snap as the moths are plucked from the glass . Oscar posed for a few photographs before disappearing into the dark.
