Serrated Spurge (?) flowers

Two very invasive weeds have got a good grip on several roadsides around here.

They’re both yellow and pretty in flower, but if you see a new clump by the side of the road, or in the bush, spare them no pity – rip them out, or spray them with herbicide!

Serrated Spurge (Euphorbia serrata/helioscopia) and Cape Broom (Genista monspessulana)  are both garden escapees and end up smothering and out-competing native shrubs and ground layer vegetation.

Serrated Spurge has a skin-irritating latex sap, so use gloves if handling it. [Note: the ID of this species is not conclusive, though E. serrata is a clear possibility.]
