Frog calls from the dam

You can hear calling:

  • Spotted Marsh Frog Limnodynastes tasmaniensis southern race [single sharp call – “click” or “plock” – similar to the sound made when two stones are struck together]
  • Southern Bull frog, or Banjo Frog Limnodynastes dumerli [a short musical, explosive note producing a resonant “bonk”]
  • Plains Brown Tree Frogs Litoria paraewingi [a series of 3-7 slowly repeated whirring notes – “creeee creee cree cree”]
  • Common Froglet Crinia signifera constant and in the background [three to five pulsed calls, with a chirping quality, rapidly repeated in a long series – “crick crick crick crick crick”]
